When you talk, think of it as a project. You plan what you will say, you say it, then you review what you said.

Part of your planning will include structuring. Think introduction, point(s) you wish to make, and conclusion.

When you speak off the cuff, you are doing the planning a few seconds ahead of the delivery.

When it’s over, consider asking someone for feedback on what you said. At the very least, review yourself. Jot down something you thought could have been better.

I totally agree with you Stephane. Like Mark Twain said:

"The difference between the right word and almost the right word is the difference between lightning and lightning bug".

@ Rami Kaibni @ Stephane - I do agree with both of you.

I do believe that communication is the key factor in managing the projects. Most of the time...many project managers don't know how to communicate, when to communicate and with whom to communicate and in what frequency....

sometimes we never do any effort after communicating to the concern person if they have received the communication and understood what we want to express or not....

So many times this kind of communication error makes the project delay and sometimes expenses of extra money....without communication we can not manage the projects in right way...

I believe that meetings are one of the most important part of the projects....we should avoid to held any unwanted meeting with unwanted people....only concern person should be included and before arranging the meeting one must have to note down bullets points / agenda of the meeting and during meeting the we should talk / discuss only on subject matter.....and all the points discussed during the meeting, to be circulated and necessary follow-up to be done at regular interval....

Before starting the project execution Project Manager should make proper plan of the meeting arrangement and meeting frequency with required attendees / stakeholders.

So before we start executing the project one should have communication plan for better communicating the project progress, status, current issues & risk, etc......

This is absolutely true. Over 90 percent of PM is communication. You have to think ahead and take different scenarios into consideration before starting a communication to a person or group of persons.

Your article sounds so simple but is is indeed a supreme discipline to communicate in projects!

If you are a master in communiations, your projects will be much easier to manage.
