Standing ovationDoes your project generate excitement and enthusiasm in your stakeholders? As a project manager, it is important to infuse people closest to the project with commitment, engagement and interest. You should uplift the people around yourself.

It should come as no surprise that influencing stakeholders requires planning. Specifically, you need to determine the spirit and mood of the people you wish to affect. One you have an appreciation for the audience’s emotional status and its values, you also need to understand the people’s beliefs.

Build on the audience’s values to lead them towards the intended goal. To truly get them on board, you will want to encourage the audience to change by adding meaning to how they feel.

By understanding and supporting your stakeholders’ feelings and beliefs, you will lift their spirit. Uplifted stakeholders help you manage the project effectively and efficiently.

Absolutely, Rami. Sometimes, changing a resisting stakeholder to a neutral position is sufficient to remove project obstacles. How do you move your stakeholders?

Good to know you will stay present on a daily basis in our community

I had the privilege and pleasure of being part of PMI Portugal Toastmasters' first management.
Our terms were (and I believe they remain one year)
My first year role was Sergeant at Arms
When I took office as President there were 17 members in the Club
When I finished my term as President (after one year) the club had 38 members
Average attendance at sessions was 26 members (well above the Toastmasters clubs benchmark in Europe)
Retention rate (renewal) was 87%
In January we conducted a member satisfaction survey with 15 assessment parameters and the satisfaction rate was 83.7%.
The lowest parameters in the evaluation were:
- Table Topics - 78.4%
- Quality of ratings - 74.5%
The highest rated parameter was:
- Club Board Support - 90.2%

We made changes to Table Topics by designing a Script for Table Topis Master and created the Table Topics evaluator figure also supported by a Script.

We became more rigorous in the evaluations (following the script proposed by Toastmasters)
We streamlined mentoring

We reviewed the club's activities in January and June (taking into account indicators created and explained to all members)
In addition to practicing the Toastmasters Principles, we have included 3 more PMI Principles (one of the Principles, as you know, is common to PMI and Toastmasters)

I used, in every session (which was weekly) 10 min Club awards Business to talk to members

305 people and 352 people attended the events respectively.

The two biggest events that took place in Portugal in the Toastmasters and PMI communities

All PMI R.E.P.'s in Portugal supported both events (unheard of since PMI's history in Portugal)
