Experienced project managers know that there is a lot to do behind the scenes before a project gets off the ground. You must tend to major planning areas involving funding, development environments, requirements, review structures, management approval and the like. You must also assemble the team, secure their dedicated time, hold kick-off meetings for team participants and tend to the pre-launch details. Here's a checklist that will help you find out if you're ready to start working on project activities, or if you need to finish up the preliminary details first.
