The Activity List template described below contains a generalized template with detailed instructions to fill in, followed by a sample personalized to the bio-pharmaceutical industry.

The Activity List template is intended to provide a detailed list of all scheduled activities after the breakdown of work packages. This would provide a basis for estimating, scheduling, executing, monitoring and controlling the project work. This template should try to provide as much details as possible regarding the activities to be performed by the team to meet the deliverables, especially the scope of work and the person(s) responsible. It would be preferable to have all the project team members while preparing this list to make sure that the descriptions are clear to everyone.

The Activity List template is usually followed by the Activity Attributes List, which contains details about the predecessor and successor activities, and their logical relationships. A thorough understanding of the dependencies between activities will help the team to prepare an optimal Schedule Management Plan.
