Appears that PMI can now adopt a more holistic approach to Agile rather than the software development only approach stressed by the PMI-ACP. Saving Changes...

Hi Mayte. There was a debate on this matter inside this forum. What I said is: after working with DAD, after working directly with both creators, I think is the best decision the PMI has taken to integrate agile to project management because agile is a way of thinking and behave and DAD approach is aligned with that definition. The way of think and behave is not what stated into the manifesto because as its name implied the manifesto is for software. Now the ball is on PMI´s court and I firmly believe that both DAD creators must be included to work with the PMI´s team to integrate it inside the standards.

Sergio,
Thank you for your comments, I checked before posting this discussion and I didn't see anything related to it.
I have high expectations for this integration, also I believe that we will see some big changes in the PMBOK 7th edition.

I hope so. I was out of the group of authors in this version. I will participate as a reviewer when the draft version was ready. The problem here is how to integrate both. I have practical experience on that because each time I have the opportunity I used DAD with project management following the PMI guide and totally independent of the life cycle I used (waterfall, iterative, etc).
It obviously fits with PMI much greater predilection towards all things agile. The integration will be interesting. Will PMI keep DAD intact? What happens with existing certified agile practitioners from both PMI and DAD?

I keep hearing about a PMI "strategy refresh." Yet, I've been trying to deduce for some time the structure of PMI's strategy and the goodness of it. The best I can see is that PMI has a bunch of aspirations that it hopes might take place.
So, there must be a reason (an alignment with PMI strategy) for this acquisition but that reasoning seems to be opaque. A cynic might argue that agility is a shiny object.
PMI has made acquisitions in the past, or formed strategic alliances. Not all of them have worked out favorably. Why might this one be different? Saving Changes...
Very interesting development looking forward to the future updates, thanks for sharing Mayte! Saving Changes...
