Consistency and honesty. Being transparent is part of that. In order to be effective and excel at my job, my word has to mean something. I work very hard at delivering both good and bad news skillfully, honestly and directly.

Others can rely on me to...
Be honest - no lying through omission, for example
Be transparent and forthright regarding my motives
Be reliable - do what I say I will

It means that what I do is representative of what I say which is representative of what I think.

Integrity is definitely being honest and consistent in your words and actions in first place. Be transparent is good quality but is not a sufficient condition to be honest or straightaway.

Walk the talk, in the sense that you really do what you say. Don't lie, no omission is acceptable.

Hi,
Integrity means Maintaining Confidentiality,Demonstrating Ethical Behavior and Honesty.
Integrity is the ability to do the right thing, even when it is not the thing that is most beneficial to you. For example, there was a project that I had made a mistake on but it was not clear which of the team members was responsible. I felt that it was only right to stand up and take the responsibility.

Seems like everybody nailed this but Shadav put the cherry on top with his statement -

"Integrity is the ability to do the right thing, even when it is not the thing that is most beneficial to you."

This does not only apply for when mistakes are made but in everything we do. We always find people with hidden agendas and sometimes they will do what they need to do to advance their own agenda. They have no integrity.

I think that the PMI's Code of Ethics defines what we stand for: Responsibility, Respect, Fairness, Honesty.

Applying these values and their related professional conduct standards, we demonstrate Integrity which is the foundation to build Trust.
