Hello everyone, I wanted to ask some questions regarding the project management relation with other disciplines. Currently i am persuing my masters and want to workon my thesis now but I want guidance fro industry experts what discipline should be chosen for research purpose in my thesis , considering the option that I want to move abroad for further career develeopment (preferably second masters in Canada/ Austrailia )
is Operational Research a good option to focus(given how it is related to proj mqnagement) for my master thesis or should i opt for supply chain mng (or any other field can be suggested as well)

Hello Sameen,
maybe by looking deep inside yourself, you find a topic you are passionate about and you burn for. You need such fire to stay on course.
You can combine PM with any other discipline; my current passion is how Chinese philosophy can improve Western project success.

I agree with Thomas, PM can be combined with any other discipline, and you should analyze your personal interests, experience acquired in some field, and expectations to give to society through your knowledge.
Take into account that Project Management is always oriented to maximize efficiency.
As an example of the variety of fields that can be combined with Project Management, check this link that lists various Project Management career paths:

When I was looking for master's programs related to project management, I leaned towards innovation and strategic direction, as usually I related it to the previous of the project life cycle. However, I agree with my colleagues that it can really be applied to any discipline. I would also give my advice to lean towards something related to your interests, preferences, talents, and strengths.
