Hello Community,

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share a personal journey and seek insights from this esteemed community.

Having recently obtained my PMP certification, I am eager to embark on a new career path within the Big 4. My background is rooted in events project management, where I have led diverse teams, managed logistics, and excelled in client relations. My experience also includes founding and managing a marketing agency and successfully establishing a grocery store.

Now, with the goal of contributing my project management expertise to a Big 4 firm, I am seeking advice on how to navigate this transition effectively. I would greatly appreciate any insights, experiences, or tips you can share.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to the valuable guidance from this supportive community.

Abdallah, being a PMP puts you ahead of the crowd but it won't get you a job because any credential is merely a proof that someone has in-depth knowledge about a certain topic but by no means does it imply that the person is capable of doing the job. While the PMP is an asset, yet, what matters is your hands-on experience if you want to venture into the Big 4 world so I highly recommend you focus on your expertise and demonstrate how you can add value to those organizations. I am sure that someone with your expertise can add lots of value. Hope this helps!

At big companies, there are often entrance points from unrelated industries in more of a business management capability. For example at a large financial institution, there may jobs required to set up new office facilities, plan large conferences and special events, or putting a large number of employees through required training. During the covid outbreak I saw companies in various business sectors reconfigure their office space for distancing, sanitation, etc. and planning logistics for transitioning to work-from-home.
