Do you know recent papers or recognized methodological guidance on projects benchmarks, KPI and metrics? All that I have found is from the early 2000. Thanks in advance!

I have found a serie of metrics and KPI to measure projects performance but it would be interesting to get this information from a well known methodological institution and above all, some recent content. Thank you for your help!

PMI does publish stats on project success rates as part of its Pulse of the Profession and other thought leadership reports.

However, such reports are of limited value when looked at generally - it is better to seek benchmarking data specific to the domain and type of projects you are involved with, and industry-specific associations might be a better bet for those.

Thank you for your feedback. I am now also looking to find some Digital Delivery industry benchmarks for % of project on time and % of project on budget so that we can situate our position to. You commented about the Pulse of the Profession...Do you know where I can find that? Thanks!

Try two more sources:
a. Go to the website of your university library and use search terms.

b. Go to "Google Scholar" and repeat the above.

It really depends on what type of information you are looking for with respect to metrics. For industry trends on what metrics are commonly used, I would likely be looking for broad based surveys and literature studies. For methods to define, collect, and manage with KPIs, I would look to whitepapers on descriptive business statistics and systems modeling since a KPI is really a specific case of a system performance measure where the system of interest is the project team.

Using the right keywords is important. I searched "scholarly articles on EVM" and found numerous recent articles from well respected sources. Sometimes it takes a few articles to hone in on the keywords, either to tree up to higher level theories, or deeper explorations of specific metrics.
