In my opinion, replacing project managers in the next 10-15 years could be difficult. However, it may be easier for projects that require less human involvement.
Today, AI is transforming the way project managers deliver projects, offering extensive benefits to both the project teams and clients. I believe that PMI is effectively working in the right direction to address the AI challenges in project management and lead the industry towards a more innovative and efficient future.

While generative AI will undoubtedly transform many aspects of project management, it is less likely to completely replace project managers and more likely to shift the nature of their roles. For project management professionals, the focus should be on adapting to these changes, enhancing their strategic and interpersonal skills, and learning to leverage AI as a tool for enhanced decision-making and efficiency. The future of project management in the AI era may be characterized by collaboration between humans and machines, with professionals acting more as leaders and strategists than task managers.
