Hello!
Newby to PMI and this is my first post. Can anyone recommend any general, non-industry specific project management software/apps that are ideal for consultant work? Ideally looking for something cloud-based, integrations with apps like Google Drive, provides templates (ie; project plans and deliverables), customizable, offers reports/dashboards, and is user friendly. Obviously inexpensive is always attractive but not necessarily a requirement.  Thanks all.

Trello, Google Drive, and Power BI form an combination for managing consultant work, offering a comprehensive solution that meets your requirements. Trello serves as a project management tool, allowing you to create boards, lists, and cards to organize tasks and workflows. Its intuitive interface makes it user-friendly, and it offers various templates for project plans and deliverables. Trello's cloud-based nature ensures accessibility from anywhere, and its integration with Google Drive enables seamless document storage and sharing. This integration allows you to attach Google Drive files directly to Trello cards, maintaining a centralized repository for all project-related documents.
Power BI complements this setup by providing data management and visualization capabilities for your KPIs. While not a project management tool per se, Power BI can connect to various data sources, including Trello and Google Drive, to create comprehensive dashboards and reports. These visualizations can offer insights into project progress, resource allocation, and other critical metrics.
The combination of Trello's task management, Google Drive's document handling, and Power BI's data analysis creates a powerful, integrated ecosystem for consultant work. This setup is relatively cost-effective, with Trello and Google Drive offering free tiers and Power BI providing affordable options for small to medium-sized operations. Overall, this solution addresses your needs for cloud-based functionality, app integrations, templates, customization, reporting capabilities, and user-friendliness.

There is a key element to take into account: the tool must support, as much as possible, your defined portfolio/program/project management process including it governance. I used a lot of different tools, some of them popular today, including it I worked in companies that created and sell some of them. If you do not have this into account then you will fall in the "silver bullet" syndrome.

Hello! If you're just starting with project management, especially in consulting, there are some useful Microsoft tools for you. These tools are easy to use and work well online.
Microsoft Planner is a solid choice if you want something simple. It comes with Microsoft 365 and works well with Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive. You can create task lists and boards that fit your projects. It's easy to get started with Planner, so you won’t need a lot of training.
For a bit more power, check out Microsoft Project for the Web. It has features like Gantt charts, project templates, and workflows you can customize. It works great with other Microsoft tools and lets you create reports. It’s also easy to use, even though it doesn’t connect with Google Drive directly.
If you want to automate tasks and create strong dashboards, look at Power Automate for automating tasks and Power BI for reporting. These tools offer more options and can connect with many platforms, including Google Drive, with some help from third-party connectors.
All these tools give you flexibility and can fit your specific needs, also you can collaborate with the team of Dynamics consultants https://www.hiredynamicsdevelopers.com/dyn...lting-services/ that I might recommend.
