While sometimes it is challenging to completely avoid business creep, even when organizational goals and priorities are changed by high-level stakeholders, it can be managed effectively through robust change control processes. Clear communication, regular stakeholder engagement, and a well-defined project scope are essential. By establishing a structured approach to evaluate and approve changes, project managers can ensure that any adjustments align with the overall objectives and do not derail the project's progress. Maintaining flexibility while adhering to core project principles can help mitigate the impact of evolving priorities.

To deal with business creep, set clear project goals and document any changes in organizational priorities. Regular communication with stakeholders ensures everyone is aligned. Evaluate the impact of changes on scope, budget, and timeline, and prioritize requests to stay focused on key objectives.
It's evident that in this case the project manager should be more actively involved in the strategy of the organization, its objectives and many other matters not so usual in the PM role.

Dealing with business creep—when stakeholders add new goals or strategic expectations beyond the project’s original purpose—requires clear boundaries and consistent communication. Start by reaffirming the project’s business objectives and how they align with organizational strategy. Use a formal change management process to assess each new request’s impact on scope, cost, and timeline before approval. Keep stakeholders informed through regular updates and emphasize the importance of focusing on agreed deliverables to achieve measurable results. If new needs are truly valuable, document them for future project phases. Maintaining transparency, discipline, and stakeholder trust is key to controlling business creep effectively.
