Hi everyone,
Sometimes, a simple desk calendar can do so much more than just tell the date😌
As someone whose daily routine revolves around project governance, system architectures, risk management, and endless problem-solving... I never expected a corporate giveaway to bring me such a profoundly different perspective. 🤔
Two years ago, receiving a supplier's desk calendar unexpectedly introduced me to a local cat rescue association. That small moment started my very first journey as a stray cat volunteer!
To this day, my weekly shifts at the shelter remain the time I look forward to the most. For me, it's not an escape from work, but a place to truly recharge. Yesterday, I experienced my own little "highlight moment"—one of the cats jumped onto my lap without any hesitation and settled down comfortably. At that moment, what I felt wasn't just how cute she was, but the grounding weight of absolute trust.
In the workplace, we spend so much time building stakeholder trust, facilitating cross-departmental collaboration, and fostering team synergy. But in the feline world, they don't approach you because of your job title, certifications, or resume. They choose to come close simply because they believe in you.
Because of this experience, I've gained a completely new understanding of what CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) truly means. Impactful CSR isn't just a one-off event, a donation, or an annual report. It's about serving as a catalyst, inspiring people to continue the ripple effect of kindness.
To me, this desk calendar is no longer just a corporate gift. It's a seed that extended a company's goodwill into continuous personal action, bridging the tech industry with local community service.
Sometimes, the most meaningful transformations begin with the smallest actions. Volunteering has become my weekly reminder that trust, compassion, and purpose matter just as much as technology and innovation. We often think we’re rescuing them, but in reality, they’re the ones healing us. ❤️🐈
