Great question.
I would first separate two different units of analysis: the World Cup as a global organizational system and Spain as the winning competitive team.
Their outcomes emerged through different mechanisms and should generate different lessons.
What stood out to me in both cases was the importance of converting distributed expertise and decisions into coherent execution.
The risk in lessons learned is explaining success only through the final outcome while overlooking the architecture, choices and conditions that made it possible.

From my point of view, I appreciated the capacity of Argentina's team to recover from negative results in the match against Cabo Verde and Egypt. Even though they were losing, the captain led the players to recover and end with a win.

The same situation can be replicated for projects that appear to be going through unsuccesfull path, correcting the direction and the strategy.
