AI Is Being Introduced. Is Your Structure Ready?

ProjectManagement.com - AI Is Being Introduced: Is Your Structure Ready?

Most organizations investing in AI are asking the wrong question. The question is not whether the technology works. It is whether the organization is structurally ready to absorb it.

In this session we will work through five diagnostic questions that surface the governance gaps, decision rights ambiguity, and operating model weaknesses that quietly determine whether AI investment creates results -- or just creates activity.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify the structural conditions most likely to stall AI adoption in your organization
  • Apply five diagnostic questions to assess your organization's execution readiness for AI deployment
  • Name a specific next action before leaving the session

Let's start a discussion: Most AI initiatives stall not because the technology failed -- but because the operating conditions were never built to support it. What structural challenge is your organization navigating right now as AI enters the work?

Great topic! In my experience, the real bottleneck isn’t the technology itself but the governance and decision-making structures. Curious to hear: how is your organization addressing the cultural and structural shifts needed for AI adoption?

You named it precisely -- and that is exactly what we will be unpacking in the session.
The governance and decision-making piece is where most organizations underinvest before deployment begins. The technology arrives ready. The operating conditions -- who owns the decision, who validates the output, who is accountable for the result -- are usually still being figured out after the fact.
The cultural shift follows the structural one, not the other way around. When decision rights are clear and accountability is assigned, behavior changes because people finally have a system that tells them how to move. Without that, even the most willing teams default to what they already know.
Would love to hear what you are seeing -- is the bottleneck more on the governance side, the decision rights side, or somewhere else entirely? That question alone usually reveals a lot about where the real work sits."
