regarding your other question; like i said, you have to ask this the responsables at PMI, i guess.
Markus
:-) this said 3Q2017
I guess what we can be sure is that the new guide is delayed and will not be Dec 2016 or Jan 2017, which means the current exam is likely to stay until the end of 2017 (at least).
George
Going back to your original post - people should not care about changes ... they need to prepare per the current edition. Now, if they have not started studying or took a course; it is always good to take the latest materials about 4 month before the exam changes (+/-2 months).
In other words, let us say the guide will be released in July 2017 and the exam will change in Dec 2017 then Aug or Sep 2017 people should be taking a course based on the 6th edition.

Hi Mounir,
you are right ... but - believe it or not - they have changed this recently.
I posted here the online version and this says third quarter 2017 like you mentioned.
I have downloaded this PDF last week and in this (offline) Version i have the answer to the the same question is:
"The expected dates for publication are as follows:
? The PMBOK® Guide – Sixth Edition will be published online in late 2017. The print version will be available in early 2018.
..."
Well, third quarter 2017 may be more or less the same as "late 2017" ...however, fact is it will not come this year or in the beginning of 2017 like it was said before the exposure draft process and this new FAQ.

may i ask why did always post twice?!?!? ... ;)
Are individual reply's also seen by everyone? I thought not, but if everyone can see my reply to you, then no need to post twice, but if not, it would be nice for others to see what I've or you've responded.
Anyway not significant to the topic.

Hi George,
yes, this is a public forum and anyone can see any post here, even if you reply to a specific post.
No need to post twice ... ;)
Like others who have brought it up, I'm not sure why you would plan your certification that far out. I suggest you consider three months a more reasonable window. (Unless you need to fulfill the education requirements first, like I had to do last fall for my next certification.) Saving Changes...

Stephane - These email trail was not intented for students, but for us that teach and needs planning and needs to answer with sounding arguments.
Thanks for the reply by the way, I like the idea for students to consider three or four months window. It's just that this window is somewhat unclear.
This surely answer your question. Saving Changes...

Hello Ranjan,
if you have read just the last few postings here in the thread you would already know that here is no reason to worry for you, since the release date for the 6th edition is meanwhile postponed to the 3rd quarter in 2017.
So we could expect that the PMP exam will not change before Q1/Q2 2018 ...
