You need to understand the concepts fully - Do not memorize anything except very few formulas.

I agree with you but ..."except very few formulas." Some or all of the formulas? I need to know.

Hello Satheesh,

Rami is absolutly right, You shouldn't even just try to remember all the ITTOs, this could be even counterproductive.

Please refer to the following guide for helpful information on how you could master all that ITTO stuff easily:

? The Complete Guide to PMP ITTO (Inputs, Tools, Techniques and Outputs) ?

Please do not hesitate to ask any further questions; best of luck for your preparations.

Markus

Understanding is essential! Memorizing likely won't help you on the exam (except - as Rami noted - you need to know the formulas so memorize those but also understand how and when to use them.)

Understand what activities belong under each phase of managing a project. Rita Mulcahy's preparation book is very helpful with this. If you know what should be happening when you should be able to answer most of the questions. The formulas are secondary to understanding the process as PMI defines it.
Best of luck to you!

Satheesh, there is no need to memorize ITTOs, knowing interrelationship between input, output, tools & techniques are important. PMI check your conceptual understanding instead of memory of ITTO and processes.

Trust me... you can literally crack it by solving as MANY Mock tests which will eventually make the concepts clear... it worked for me and many I know. No need to memorize word by word. All good training providers have lots of tests in their database, enroll with them. ONLY Reading/Memorizing PMBOK will not work for test passing. PMBOK Clearly mentions that it is a 'GUIDE' not a one stop place for PM. MOCK TESTS are the key.

Agree with every one! Memorization would not work. Please do expect the questions that test how well you can apply the concept and not your memory power.

Practice more mock tests. Analyze your scores along with the questions you have answered incorrectly the mocks. Best of luck to you!
