From my perspective I see a lot of social projects surrounding the reinsertion of the FARC memebers into society. This will have two sides: the first one is that these projects will be focused on the countryside where generally th goverment invest little resources; on the other side I see that perhaps too many of the country's resources will be invested on this to support the process and other areas will be left aside wich could turnout to be contraproductive for the country as a whole. This will be based on political decissions focused on elections.

One important up side is that international community will see Colombia as a more stable country for investment allowing that risk contingencies be reduced making projects and investment more attractive.
As Fabio Pereira Says in the last comment the BIG issue here is that only one group is taken into account leaving other groups outside the treaty , which means that probably thing will remain the same after the process. So in order to keep that opinion the goverment must take into account these other groups for further stability of the country.

Hello, George. I think your question have differents point of view and can be answered not only under Peace Agreement. First at all, Colombia will sign a Peace Agreement, not a treaty. As an agreement, Peace will have a commitment from both sides. At very first attempt to break that commitment, all benefits related will be retired and law conditions will be applied like prosecution to all guerrilla members that were inside the agreement. So, the path peace must follow to get success must include programs which need more than a common management and budget control. Social, educational and infrastructural programs around peace must involve practices and control from international standardized organizations like World Bank, PMI and ONU.

It´s true that until Peace is not signed, resources and budget will not be assigned to create and execute projects. But there's other groups of projects and possible topics that are be developed using projects like home solutions for violence victims and outcast, water and vital supplies for countryside.

At some point some major infrastructure projects being currently kept on hold would eventually kickoff; however, remains the fact that in the event that the so called peace treaty becomes a reality there would be an unknown risk latent on the long term with the thousands of ex military armed group members who might not find so easy to be civilized and bound by the law again, or whom might feel somehow betrayed by their leaders after decades of fighting for a no longer clear reason.

HHi George.

In my opinion the peace treaty will impact in the overall social risk that foreing investors perceive from our country because the peace treaty will contribute to have a steady social an political admosphere. this will encourage the investors to spend their resources financing a set of social projects that will help to balance the social inequity. And project management will help to watch the good use of those resources and mimimize de risk of loosing them due to the corruption on the contract management.

In Colombia there is a risk by all projects related to infraestructure damage or personnel due groups outside the law, and thre is a constrain related to presence of groups outside the law in the project zone. With the peace agreement is possible to reduce or to eliminate the risk and the cosntrain in some places, but not in all country, because there are aonther groups (ELN, criminal gangs, etc) in the projects zones. this agreement save time and cost in safety and related activities, but only in this stakeholder.

agree but we must see the process with positivism and think that Colombia could become a power in South America.

Well, unfortunately, the agreement for the peace was not accepted by the Colombian people, means that the government needs to review again and would be a lot of time again...

Probably, the investment from other countries can be affected. But, I can see that Colombia has a lot of options for projects in different areas. As some of the participants said, maybe some social projects can be affected, but if we can see from other point of view, is a good option for the country.

I´m working for a US company, and we have a lot of projects here in Colombia, and we are growing a lot, maybe the problem for us regarding the foreign investment is the dollar price.

In the other hand, I can see that Colombia is growing a lot in the Project management training, and the companies are interested in the PMO´s, ROI, etc.
