I've been asked to give a 20-minute presentation on the "Benefits of Project Management". Mind you, I realize that this is a very broad topic and I have some ideas on how I want to approach the presentation but I'd like to hear from the Community on what topics you would discuss, how to jazz it up (make it interesting to all levels (students, non-PM, entry-level and experienced PMs).

Thank you.

I'm looking forward to seeing the deluge of responses you'll get. :-) Some initial thoughts:
Less risk
Lower costs
Higher quality products
Faster completion time of various activities and endeavors
Increased employee satisfaction
Increased customer satisfaction

It’s just good management practice.

Effective project management is essential to meeting triple constraints – scope, schedule, budget, and for realizing project objectives, goals and customer satisfaction. Project management affects the entire organization and it will improve the overall management of the business by exercising physical, administrative and intellectual assets. While PMI guidelines are tailored to projects, the principles and practices can be applied across all business functions simply by applying the PMI knowledge areas to the business plans and annual work plans, which include objectives, strategic planning, goals, allocation of resources, execution, management and completion of business products.
