Really interpersonal skills along with PMP, acquired PM skills come, a long way. My experience has been we as PM's need equally the qualities of perseverance, problem-solving, persuasion along with cost, schedule, scope management. That is why in any interview if you closely observe, every response you put out would be measure on the expression, usage of language, etiquette because those are needed for a PM.
