I have PMBOK with me all the time on my tablet, with highlight and notes like a regular paper copy. I can search my comments rapidly. I also have a softcover version that I can carry when needed.
I have advise PMI of this problem with some other PMI references documents.
PMBOK version 5 let you put highlight or notes, it let you print
Version 6 prevent printing (GOOD), prevent COMMENTING (BAD), prevent Content copying (I can retype, time consuming), plus that diagonal watermark (Overkill).
Is PMI culture change? Do PMI want to facilitate usage and diffusion of PMI knowledge?
I not clear on what is serve to block PMI member from adding comments to their PDF copy. Is the print copy in a material that prevent highlighting?
Other organization such has PMI let you HIGHLIGHT! They realize that their document are reference material.
Do we need to purchase PMBOK at Amazon, can it be highlighted? Other book (specially reference book) can be highlighted!

I agree with you Vincent. The most difficult and annoying part is the huge watermark on each page. It is highly unreadable and not enjoyable. And of course you would want to refer, print, highlight, take notes. Copyright protection is important but not to the extent of defeating the purpose. If there is a feedback section, I would do one. Saving Changes...
I don't know about a feedback section. PMI people read here PM.com. User of the PMBOK need to voice their opinion in order to improve the UX for PMI member that are financing all of this.
Voice your opinion! it is your right! Saving Changes...

Hmmm.... I wonder if PMI would consider selling a digital copy of PMBOK without the restrictions?
I do find the digital version a lot more useful. I would pay to have a copy without the restrictions.

I agree that is the reason of the posting, I think PMI need to understand the benefit of pdf version for it's member.
If I purchase in ebook format on Amazon is it lock from highlight and comments?
Have you not put highlight or comments in your previous version of the PMBOK? Saving Changes...

You're right, Andrey. I usually buy from amazon.ca, which does not carry the Kindle version.
It's fascinating that amazon.com offers the Kindle version at a higher price than the paperback copy!

I'm just now going through the digital version. While the watermark is bothersome, I really don't know it's there unless there is less type on the page. I agree though that we should be able to highlight, bookmark, etc. certain areas in our digital copy. Saving Changes...

Checking on Amazon, I see 3 comments, one a clear marketing with a 5 star rating, no verified purchase. A second complain about no zoom and give it a 4 star. And the third give it a 1 star rating and 2 supporting comments, mainly complants about watermark and grey page.
Seem event the hardcopy has microprinting to prevent photocopy!
I think somebody should come up with a way to breed a very large shrimp. That way, you could ride him, then, after you camped at night, you could eat him. How about it, science?
