I'm looking to creating a solid human resource plan. One in particular is the staffing management plan. I've seen many different ones. Does anyone have any feedback on their experience on creating this and what could be done to make this part better for the duration of the project?

- try to have a constant core team over the whole period of the project time. I know it is hard to realize but it pays off in the long run,
- also in above contect avoid project multi-taksing of the team members
- staff your team based on skills and mindset your team really needs/ your project leadership team is aking for. Do NOT staff based on availability of people and "nice stories" told by resource managers
- Make interviews, preferably f2f to better understand whether it really fits. Try to understand staff candidates motivations to join the project

I Agree with the "available one" as I rather take the stakeholder who has the required skillset to do that particular part. But is there a staffing management plan template?

Rita's book "PMP Exam Prep" has some good examples of what's included in the staff management plan.
