In theory, procurement is objective, transparent and fair. In reality, procurement is often complicated, painful and byzantine.

The process of procurement is supposed to increase efficiency, remove biases and provide equal opportunity for prospective vendors to demonstrate their skills, capabilities and differentiators in proposing to take on work.

The reality for clients and vendors alike is that procurement is a complex, painful and convoluted process that introduces complexities, barriers and formalities. An expedited procurement might take 6 months to manage. It is not uncommon for them to take a year or more. In a world where technology, change and transformation is proceeding at break-neck speeds, this creates tremendous risks and challenges.

It does not have to be this way.

While procurement processes should be fair, that doesn’t mean that they can’t be efficient. The challenge is designing procurements with that outcome in mind. Good and effective procurements are indeed possible, but they need to be consciously planned to proceed smoothly and well.

If you struggle with how to procure efficiently and effectively, this is a webinar that you won’t want to miss.
