Unlocking Creativity and Problem Solving: Teaching Project Management to Kids

In this engaging session, Dacia Donohue, Senior Director and Program Manager, PMP and PMI Mile High Chapter Volunteer, shares her unique insights on how project management skills can be transformative for children.

Through her 11-year involvement with Destination Imagination (DI), a global STEAM-based program and partner with the PMI Educational Foundation, Dacia has seen firsthand how fostering creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving in kids leads to profound personal growth. Drawing on her experiences as a team manager and professional project leader, she will explore how DI's iterative processes align closely with PMI’s project management principles, offering kids invaluable tools for future success.

Join us as Dacia walks through the techniques she’s used to manage DI teams, including Agile frameworks, Scrum, Kanban, and project planning tools that are easily adaptable for children of all ages. Whether you're a parent, educator, or PMI volunteer, you'll come away with practical tips for empowering the next generation of project leaders.
