"This planet has - or rather had - a problem, which was this: most of the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movements of small green pieces of paper, which is odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy." - Douglas Adams |
Drag Cost: Deliver More Value Faster!
Critical Path Drag identifies and quantifies potential project delay with the activities causing it. Similarly, Drag Cost identifies and quantifies the reduction in project value due to such a delay with each activity’s Critical Path Drag. This provides the justification for added resources (one of the hardest tasks for a project manager!). It can also preempt the common occurrence of optional work being performed despite the fact that its True Cost of Work (TCW) is greater than the value it adds (TCW = resource costs + Drag Cost).
