Consultants are a very real presence in the project management world. Whether as advisor, project manager or team member, we often find ourselves in positions where we need to engage outside services.

At the same time, consultants come in a variety of different shapes, flavours and sizes. Fundamental to successfully engaging a consultant is knowing when we need one and being clear about the role that they should play. Equally important is knowing how to evaluate, contract for and manage the relationship effectively.

In this webinar, Mark Mullaly explores how to think about the role that consultants can play on your projects and in your organizations. The presentation outlines the types of consultants and why each is relevant and valuable. Also discussed are effective strategies for selecting and hiring consultants. You will learn how to when a consultant can provide value, the kind of consultant you need to look for and the best ways to ensure they deliver the outcomes you need. You will also learn what to watch out for, and what not to do along the way.
