Project HEADWAY: Bridging To Agile: Baby Steps Or Big Break?
This presentation is supporting material for this video.
Agile. The term has been around for awhile. Long enough, you would think, to have established a track record in how to successfully use it. And, interestingly, there are some case studies and organizations where it has gained traction as an approach and seen success. At the same time, many have struggled to get support, both from sponsors and team members. Perhaps most noteworthy, though, is the degree to which agile as an approach has been adopted informally on a piecemeal basis, without really embracing the principles or philosophy.
So what does it actually mean to manage an agile project? What does it take to get acceptance and adoption, and to introduce the practices to an organization? Is it more effective to introduce aspects of the approach, hoping for some level of take-up, even if it means compromising many of the overall foundations? Or is it necessary to adopt agile wholesale, and fend off attempts to water it down? In this presentation, Mark Mullaly explores the agile phenomenon: where it came from, what it is meant to do, and how to best make it work. Whether you are trying to make it work, or just want to find out more about what it's about, be sure to tune in as we try to deftly explore the agile phenomenon.
