Risk management is arguably the single most influential activity in successfully managing projects. It can also be extremely expensive and time consuming, while still leaving projects exposed to the unknown. For all of the effort that is expended in identifying, planning for and managing risks, there is still the opportunity for something to go wrong.

As well, for all of the theoretical formality of risk management, for many projects the actual applied effort is comparatively low. Projects don’t get the scrutiny they deserve, or project managers excessively rely on checklists and templates.

Risk management also a tool that we struggle with most in terms of how to implement it effectively. How can project managers practically anticipate risk and manage it appropriately? How can we use the tools of risk management judiciously, and proceed with confidence? How can we comfortably know that we have considered the essentials, and are ready to tackle anything else that might occur?

In this webinar, Mark Mullaly takes a practical look at the practice of risk management. He explores the challenges associated with appropriately assessing and anticipating risk. He also provides guidance in how to practically negotiate expectations regarding project risks, and strategies for identifying, assessing and planning for what might happen. Participants will gain a practical understanding of how to apply the principles of risk management in a structured and streamlined fashion. If you wrestle with how to manage the uncertain and unknown on your projects, and knowing how much effort is enough, then this is a webinar you won’t want to miss.
