Project HEADWAY: Back to First Principles
This presentation is supporting material for this video.
The process of project management has resembled what we currently know and experience for some time. While it has certainly evolved, the essential structure, look and feel has been surprisingly persistent. In a world of theoretically rapid and exponential change, project management feels like its development has been more incremental.
Project management traces its evolution back to specific challenges and issues, particularly associated with some specific, large-scale projects and programs. What resulted was tailored to the needs of its time. The practices were designed to address issues of the day. But if we were to start—or start over—now, would we get to the same place?
This webinar goes back to the beginning. It explores where project management came from, and why. It examines the essential principles on which it was developed. And it asks whether those principles would still be relevant if we were starting it all again.
