The PMBOK® Guide, published by the Project Management Institute, documents and standardizes generally accepted project management information and practices. The PMBOK® Guide, is a widely accepted critical chain approach to project management. This standard addresses all types of projects, from bridge building to information systems implementation.
Adaptive Leadership is a leadership framework developed by Ronald Heifetz and Marty Linsky that focuses on the ability of leaders to help their organisations and teams respond effectively to complex, changing environments. It emphasises the need for leaders to guide their followers through difficult challenges by facilitating learning, encouraging collaboration and promoting change. Unlike traditional leadership models that focus on managing resources and processes, adaptive leadership encourages leaders to challenge the status quo, deal with uncertainty and enable innovation.
Stakeholder management is the strategic process of identifying, analysing and engaging with individuals, groups or organisations that have an interest in or influence on a project, initiative or business operation. Its purpose is to ensure that the needs, expectations and concerns of stakeholders are adequately addressed, while promoting cooperation and minimising potential conflict. A well-executed stakeholder management strategy promotes alignment, facilitates smoother project delivery and enhances long-term success.
Brainstorming is a creative problem-solving technique used to generate a wide range of ideas, solutions or alternatives in a short period of time. It encourages free thinking and the sharing of ideas without judgement. The process is often used in groups, but individuals can also brainstorm alone. The aim is to generate a variety of ideas that can later be refined, analysed and developed.
Adaptive planning is a flexible approach to project management that enables teams to respond effectively to change and unforeseen challenges. It differs from traditional, rigid planning methods by allowing for adjustments throughout the project lifecycle. It emphasises collaboration, continuous feedback and iterative planning, making it particularly useful in environments characterised by uncertainty and frequent change, such as software development or innovation-driven industries.
