Overview
This webinar explores the critical, yet often overlooked, intersection of human cognitive bias and artificial intelligence in modern project management. While cognitive biases—those systematic errors in thinking that affect our decisions—are not new to project professionals, the rise of AI, particularly generative AI, has amplified their impact. When AI systems are trained on biased data or developed with biased assumptions, they can automate and scale these errors, leading to flawed forecasts, resource misallocation, and project failures. In generative AI projects, this bias can manifest as misrepresentations, hallucinations, or unethical outputs, directly impacting the quality and reliability of the final product.
This session will provide project managers with a practical compass to navigate this new landscape. We will examine how common biases, such as confirmation bias and optimism bias, can subtly influence everything from project planning to stakeholder communication. We will then demonstrate how AI can either worsen these issues or, if used correctly, serve as a powerful tool for mitigation. You will learn actionable strategies to identify and counteract bias in your projects, ensuring that you lead with clarity and make data-driven decisions that are not undermined by unconscious human- or AI-driven errors. This is not about replacing human judgment, but about enhancing it, empowering you to unlock AI's true potential for project success.
