Outsourcing  projects to third-party vendors is commonplace in most organizations; in fact, it has been the basic way project work has been carried out for decades. All too often, however, organizations are unsatisfied with the quality, timeliness, and final cost of their product. Properly managing the outsourcing of projects is essential to ensuring that organizations achieve the success they seek.
