Create A Talent Culture

I talk to a lot of business leaders and to a person, they all say that their people are the biggest differentiator for their business. The people make the company, so having a strong talent strategy can make or break the business. A good talent strategy encompasses two key areas: attraction and retention. Having a meaningful answer to these two questions is key to the long-term success of your organization: how do you attract good people, and how do you cultivate and retain the talent you have?

There is a talent war taking place as we speak. The global labor market lost the equivalent of 255 million full-time employees in 2020. From the fight to hire enough entry-level workers to keep the lights on to the lack of potential hires with specialized skills for work in science, technology, engineering, and math, we are experiencing a critical shortage.

Employees have options about where to work, and some populations are willing to leave the workforce entirely, whether it be Gen Z pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors or women across generations leaving for various reasons including wanting to focus on parenting rather than doing the work of two full-time jobs.
