We’re moving to Pearson VUE to provide a better overall exam experience. All certification examinations worldwide (except China) will be run through Pearson VUE to provide:

  • Additional test locations: With more testing locations available, choosing a convenient test site is easier than ever. (Find a Pearson VUE testing location here.)
  • Online proctoring for PMI-ACP® and CAPM®Candidates can now test from their home or office for increased convenience and ease-of-access.  No other certifications are scheduled for online proctoring at this time.
  • Versatility to U.S. Service Members: Pearson VUE offers a global U.S. Federal and military on-base test center network in the marketplace, allowing US Service and government members to test where serve around the world.

What do you need to do?

You can continue directing candidates through the existing application process with no changes.  Candidates will be guided to one of the test vendors based on the timeframe they plan to test. If you provide details around the scheduling or testing process at Prometric in your materials then you will need to update them.

Transition Timeline

There will be a period of overlap where scheduling and testing will be available with both Prometric and Pearson VUE.  Most candidates who have already scheduled their exams will be unaffected by this change.

Important Dates

1 March 2019

PMI-ACP scheduling available at Pearson VUE

1 April 2019

PMI-ACP testing begins at Pearson VUE centers and online proctoring

30 June 2019

Last date for testing at Prometric centers

1 July 2019

Next Steps for Candidates Who Already Scheduled through Prometric

Candidates who have already scheduled a test with Prometric on or before 30 June 2019 can keep that appointment and test as planned, regardless of the certification exam. For those candidates who have already scheduled with Prometric on or after 1 July 2019, we will work with Prometric and Pearson VUE to have their test appointment moved to Pearson VUE.

Next Steps for Candidates Who Have Not Scheduled

Candidates who have not yet scheduled their exams have two options:

  • To test before 30 June 2019: Candidates will need to schedule their exam at a Prometric test center location before 19 April 2019.
  • To test after 30 June 2019: Candidates who want to test after 30 June 2019 will not be able to schedule their exams until 19 April 2019. Candidates will receive Pearson VUE exam information on 19 April 2019 so they can schedule their exam for any date on or after 1 July 2019.

Next Steps for Paper-based Testing (PBT)

We will work with Pearson VUE to transition any candidates that are scheduled for a PBT exam on or after 1 July 2019 to Pearson VUE test center location.

Laszlo, I read this before but I haven’t noticed that April 19 is the last day you can schedule exams at Prometric.

For example, if I want to take the exam mid June and I try to book early May, does this mean I can’t book the exam at Prometric ?

If this is correct, then this means that we can’t schedule exams after April 19 unless it is after July 01. Can you please clarify ?

Thank you very much for your's very good Topic.

I've just discover this issue.
I cannot schedule my exam with Prometric anymore and the first available date with Pearson VUE is for the 9 of July. I've to wait more than 2 months!
My colleague that has failed is exam on 11th of April was able today to reschedule for the next week with Prometric and there were several available date till the end of June,
Why not give the option to still schedule the exam with Prometric till the end of june?
It's a big problem why you don't have clearly informed about this?

At the end, I've contacted the PMI customer-care and the allowed me to schedule the exam for the end of May with Prometric.
Sorry for the previous harsh comment but I'm really under pressure for the exam.
I' understand that you are working to provide a better overall exam experience, and that It can bring some issues during the transition.
At least my experience could be helpful for other people that will incur in the same situation.

If my exam date at Prometric is on 20 of June and I want to postpone it to July. Does it mean that I will need to cancel the schedule with Prometric and schedule a new date with Pearson VUE?

I think so.
Check the announcement on PMI site.
In case of problems I suggest you to contact the PMI Customer care by email or chat.

Thank you.
I cancelled the schedule with Prometric. However when I schedule new exam, the system still link to Prometric site. I'm discussing with PMI customer care but this switch is quite annoying actually.
