#1. Understand the value stream is the workflow, not the people in the workflow, from concept to consumption of value.
#2. Attend to the entire value stream. If you don't get cooperation of portfolio or product management, make the cost of this visible.
#3. Use Minimum Business Increments (MBIs) when enhancing existing products. Use MVPs for what they were intended for - discovering if you have new products. Don't confuse the two.
#4. Create semi-autonomous teams that have all the skills required to create the MBIs.
#5. Do your PI planning by focusing on removing delays in workflow in the completion of MBIs. This lowers waste while lowering cost of delay.
#6 Use dependencies identified in PI planning to Improve your organization's value creation structure

Al, thanks for sharing this.
I am a bit on the fence with regards to no. 5 ... The intent should be not to finish them quickly but to finish them properly to deliver value, isn’t it ?

thanks. i reworded it slightly. I didn't mean to imply hurting quality. By removing delays in workflow you will improve quality.

Al, thanks. That reads much better from my side, however, removing waste reduces Cost of Quality but not Cost of Delay. I would personally reword it as follows:
Do your Pl Planning by focusing on delivering the right MBI first and reducing waste. This will reduce and maybe eliminate both Cost of Quality and Delay.

it definitely results in quicker delivery - reducing cost of delay.
it may improve quality. cost of quality i'm guessing is cost of bad quality
