Hey folks -

Recently I've been thinking about the future of project management in a software-driven, increasingly Agile and agile world. I wrote those thoughts down and shared them with Harvard Business Review last month. Take a read here: https://hbr.org/2021/05/how-project-managers-can-stay-relevant-in-agile-organizations

What's been your experience? If the world is iterating forward, what does that look like for project managers?

Dear Jeff
The theme that brought to our reflection and debate is very interesting.
thanks for sharing
I will carefully read the article you published in the Harvard Business Review.
There are companies whose promise is to replace, nowadays, the Project Managers in the administrative area

Dear Jeff
I just read the article you published
It occurs to me to ask: what is the difference between operations and projects whose development approach is agile?

Hi Luis -

Agile projects aren't really projects at all. They are initiatives whose goal is continuous improvement and iteration. They focus on a desired end state for the customer/user and optimize the system indefinitely to achieve a continuously valuable service for that user.

Thanks Jeff.

Having worked in a big corporation and then moving to a small business, the differences are stark! I find that the 3 principles you have enumerated easier to follow in the smaller business. Its actually assumed as the only way to work.
