At-a-Glance Weekly Project Status Report
Format: Report
UPDATED TEMPLATE! The at-a-glance weekly status report is a means of providing a quick, simple and clear reflection of project status on a regular basis. It focusses attention on the essential information that is necessary to know where a project is and whether there are any concerns or areas requiring attention.
The at-a-glance weekly status report can be used on its own, or in tandem with a more comprehensive status report that could be used on a monthly or quarterly basis.
The at-a-glance weekly status report starts off with essential information about the project, including a description of the project and its intended outcomes and baseline expectations about schedule and budget.
Each week, update the current status to reflect where the project is:
- Identify the stage that it is currently in
- Identify the expected completion date and planned cost, and calculate the variance from what was originally approved
- Indicate overall project health
- Provide a summary of the current project status and an explanation of the current project health, focusing in particular on what has changed
- Identify any current project issues that are being experienced and need to be addressed, as well as any potential project risks
