Project Sizing Template
Format: Report / Evaluation Form
The purpose of project sizing analysis is to determine the appropriate level of formality for a project in regard to structure and tools based on four key criteria: Stakeholder Impact, Risk, Project Responsibility Level and Organizational Level Impacted. There are two steps. First, the Project Evaluation Matrix should be completed to determine an overall impact rating for the project as Low, Medium or High. Second, this overall rating is then compared to the Project Sizing Tables, which set out the minimum elements of Project Structure and Tools as predetermined by your PMO (or equivalent). What follows are a blank Project Evaluation Matrix and a blank Project Sizing Table, followed by three filled-in samples of the Project Sizing Table demonstrating Low, Medium and Highly structured projects (one per page).
