The project financial analysis template calculates key metrics to determine the business case for a project. The template is an Excel file that can be used by a project manager, project sponsor or a relevant professional to determine if a project should be pursued.

The user must input values for a project in the file (e.g., start year, capital investment, number of units sold or volume, average selling price, etc.). After entering these values, the template calculates the following key metrics: net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR), and payback period. These results facilitate the business decision making process in project selection.
