Thanks for the advise.The question i rised because many people who have PMP but no practical knowledge.
I faced lots difficulties from these people.They are brilliant to write the exam .But practical knowledge is very less. Saving Changes...
Neither a Masters degree nor a PMP is worth much from an industry perspective if not coupled with sufficient actual hands-on PM experience.
While the Masters degree will certainly help in academic or research roles, the PMP would likely be referenced more in job postings for non-academic PM positions.

I appreciate your query and the opportunity to comment on a subject that has bothered me generally, but specifically while recruiting staff in the Middle East.
1) I have seen Engineer Candidates from various countries who simply could not pass a skills test for their field, and could not bring much to the Project upon Mobilization-without significant mentoring and training.
2) I have also utilized staff with MBA degrees from various 3rd world countries that did not possess any advanced business skills. Simply put- the degree was not worth the paper it was written on. I think you know the Counties I am talking about!
3) Privately, I suspect that many degree mills produce these docs for $$$.
Lastly, I would strongly suggest that the skills and processes information provided by PMI is very standardized, and the process of testing seems incorruptible. I know if I hire a PMP certified candidate, that I have a baseline to work with, and can easily integrate that Candidate's knowledge with Field Practices. It is a great First Requirement for hiring, in my opinion. This is why places like Saudi Aramco, and many US Companies, are now requiring the PMP for all new Hires.

I have an MS in Operations and Project Management plus a PMP. One thing I did like about MS program was that I was able to learn about some real world examples and applications of methods and techniques. I was also able to take classes on LEAN and Six Sigma as well. But I do agree it all depends on the industry and market. I received my PMP in 2015 and my MS Degree in 2017. I believe the combination of the two helped me but, I strongly believe it only helped my because our CEO has a strong belief in project management, process improvements and the structure that goes along with them.
