I'm not a lot of movies, but I have a group of graduate students who do, so I want to take advantage of that hobby for the subject, what movies do you recommend related to PM? As to make analogies and illustrate the perspective of PMI. Thanks in advance

The making of any movie apparently requires a very strict and tight project management approach, methodology and style as movie making requires the use of expensive resources so scheduling and resource management are paramount to the movies success. If you can find a movie about the behind the scenes of the making of a movie then this would give your students a good insight in this process and what can be expected from them in the future.

Indeed, Film and TV production is all about Project and Team Management. The process can be surprisingly complex with producers and Production Managers needing to work with and manage multiple teams in myriad disciplines in order to bring it all together to the end product we see on the screen. As a PMP with over 20 year film/tv production experience, I believe the creative industries are largely untapped from a PMI growth perspective.

You could use a wide variety of movies, depending on how creative you want to be. Project Management covers such a wide array of industries and processes that you can find it in almost everything... if you really want to find it.
I'd start with some of the many history-based aerospace movies, because they often deal with a temporary endeavor with a goal (getting to space, putting a man on the moon, etc.), planning, deadlines, challenges, and a large amount of risk management. Try movies like "The Right Stuff" or "Hidden Figures." "Apollo 13" could spark a good discussion about seemingly routine projects that become derailed. BBC has a good 4-part series called "Space Race" about Korolev and von Braun; it shows the two rival projects competing. Saving Changes...
One that occurred to me is The Bridge on the River Kwai. The focus of the story is less about bridge building, and more about the motivations of the leader.

That was my choice, as well. I would add that it includes a 1) project reset, 2) unmanaged risks and of course 3) sabotage. Sounds like your traditional enterprise project to me ;)
