My curiosity began with my recent learning journey on LinkedIn Learning. I've been using it to develop professional project management skills and gain knowledge beyond the classroom, though I can only evaluate it from a student's perspective. This made me wonder: which courses do you consider the best from a professional's point of view?

Then it occurred to me that LinkedIn Learning might not be a widely used platform (or is it?), and learning can happen in so many places—outside the classroom, or on various online platforms. So now, my question is:

*What is the best course you have taken on project management?*
It could be an online course, a traditional course, an experience, training, or anything else.

I'm eager to learn and appreciate your contributions in advance!

One of the best courses I have taken on project management is the "Project Management Basics" online course offered by PMI. This course is designed to build foundational project management skills and prepare participants for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification exam. Here are some key highlights:

Comprehensive Curriculum: The course is based on the PMBOK Guide – Sixth Edition and covers essential project management concepts and techniques.
Validated by Experts: Developed and created by PMI, the course content is validated by CAPM and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification holders.
Flexible Learning: As an online course, it offers the flexibility to learn at your own pace, making it suitable for both new practitioners and those looking to refresh their knowledge.
Professional Development Units (PDUs): The course provides 23 PDUs, which can be used to maintain PMI certifications.
Affordable Pricing: The course is reasonably priced, with discounts available for PMI members.

In summary, the "Project Management Basics" course by PMI is an excellent choice for anyone looking to gain a solid foundation in project management and prepare for the CAPM certification. Its comprehensive content, expert validation, and flexible learning format make it a valuable investment in your professional development.

hope this is useful for you

Maria, check on Udemy, there are self-paced courses for Joseph Phillips. Great courses for an affordable price and they are self-paced online courses. Hope this helps!

"Best" has a lot of ambiguity. Just to comment, I worked creating and delivering business analysis, portfolio/project/program management courses for more than 30 years ago working in well known consulting firms. There is a big difference between take knowledge and putting it in the practice. Taking today available resources my recommendation is using PMI´s Infinity tool to put yourself in asking the tool situational facts derivate from reading the PMI´s standards. All other things have no sense.

Maria,
I will share with you my approach rather than a favorite course.

A high level overview as Sansket suggests is a great starting point. From there, ask what subjects within that outline interest you most and also which you think will be most valuable to an employer. They aren't always aligned. That's where you can look next to increase your depth of knowledge.

In my studies, some of the courses are about theory and concepts. Others are more practical like cost modeling. Some of the things I though I'd never use became extremely useful and vice versa.

Basing it on your interests helps your motivation to learn, but for professional applications, utility usually beats theory.

I've had a chance to explore a variety of learning platforms, and while LinkedIn Learning offers a solid foundation, I believe the best course depends on your current skill level and career goals.
One standout for me was PMI's Project Management Professional (PMP) certification training. The depth and real-world application of project management principles provided invaluable insights. It's not just about theory but also how to handle practical scenarios in any project.
In terms of online learning, Coursera's 'Agile Project Management' by Google is another course I found particularly useful, as it bridges traditional and agile methodologies.
What I’ve found most beneficial, however, is hands-on experience combined with formal learning. Learning from both successes and challenges in real projects, backed by continuous education, has been the key to growing as a project manager.
