Why would you want them to hurry up ? I believe the new edition will be released in 2018 if I am not mistaken. It was supposed to be released early 2017.

Rami, I don't understand.... You mean Q1 2017 or Q1 2018? Can you expand...
Why wait until tomorrow for what you can do today? Do you have higher priorities? If so, that's fine. What is your priority for getting certified?
BTW, not much is going to change. I could study PMBOK version 2 and still pass the current exam.

ust in case, this question was regarding training to be taken when getting close to Q3/Q4 2016. Students should demand trainers to explain and/or include those new concepts in their training material. Again, not now, but when getting closer to the new release. Or Students because of Training Cost could evaluate (once we hit the Q4 2016) whether to wait a few months or not.
For some us this is very easy, because we're immerse in the topic, but for some other, this type of discussions is helpful. After all they are just positive discussions.

I would go for it as soon as possible, since once the new edition is out the training material will take some time to get updated, delaying at the same time your goal.
Time is the only resource that can not be recovered.

I agree Alexis, but will your comment be the same once we hit the Q4 2016 Mark? Considering it takes 4 to 6 months to prepare for the PMP exam. This could be a interesting discussion.

Hello George,
the release of the new PMBoK Guide edition was actually postponed to the end of 2017 (for the online version) respective the beginning of 2018 for the printed version.
However, as we know out of history PMI will change the PMP exam approx. about a half year after release of the new edition.
That is, cause all the training insititutes and publisher have to update their material along the changes.
Back to your question:
I would say, that every new aspirant should try to go for the exam based on the actual version as long as it seems possible, depending on the needed prep time.
If they could not start their prep until lets say 3 month before the exam will change, than i would recommend to start preparing based on the new material and go for the exam about 1 or to months after changes takes place, so you could consider the first lessons learned of new exam takers.
Hope this helps,
Markus

By the way, do you mind if I take your exact wording with your name and mailing as an answer to my students community? I couldn't say it in a better way, and would hate to copy paste and take the comment as my own.
Let me know.
Thanks again...
