Key factors in approaching translation of any Global Standard or Content in a local language
http://infotiate.com/key-factors-in-translation/
First of all, I wish to place my sincere appreciation to all those individuals, volunteers, organization, Institutions, professionals and others who take initiative & work towards creating global knowledge & content in their local working languages to enable implementation & use of such proven global knowledge in working in local language.

I feel honored & proud of being part of many such projects and feel very happy for my small contributions through volunteering my participation in creating good global contents in Hindi language like PMBOK® Guide (both 4th & 5th Editions), Scrum Guide, Nexus Guide, eduScrum Guide and other such contents.

I wish to share my experience of Hindi Translation that may help in such translation projects. .............http://infotiate.com/key-factors-in-translation/

Appreciate the effort that you and similar teams have put in translating the standards and content into local languages. Thank you for sharing your experience. You have made some very good points. Understanding the concept and context is, indeed, very important for effective translation.

Great work Mr. Sanjeev. Much appreciated. I always felt the need of having the PMBOK in National language. This has opened new horizons for all who wish to make difference in project management area. With PMBOK now available in Hindi it could reach out to larger audience.

I bought the hard copy of PMBOK 4th (Hindi) Edition when it was initially released, and really felt a prized possession. Later PMI included the soft version of it in their digital library for download.
Thank you for your lessons learned, Sanjeev. I shared it with another organization I help on translation.

Anupam please share your review or thought at [email protected] on the 4th edition. The 5th Edition is also available and was a good enhancement over 4th edition. http://www.pmi.org.in/pmbok-hindi/

Thanks much Stephan and if you can arrange their views & thought as well it would really be very helpful & collaborating..([email protected]

Sure thing. Will share Sanjeev.
More than the translation, the local sensitivity & context in the contemporary usage of the language needs to be focused on.

Which is the difficulty I have encountered, dealing with an international French translation review team. Canadian-French, European-French and African-French all have their quirks and colloquialisms.
