Creating a culture of DE & I in organizations
Nowadays it seems to be fashionable to say that the organization is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion programs, but, in parallel we see statistics of reality and the gap is still very large. Creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture requires concrete actions. Firstly, supporting women and minorities to gain self-confidence and perform safely in leadership roles, both in organizations and projects, without losing their identity and authenticity, and secondly, for organizations to promote practices of awareness and appreciation of diversity as a strategic advantage that improves creativity, innovation and the work environment. This session will provide strategies for identifying biases; tactics that support the creation of inclusive culture on project teams; and discuss opportunities for project managers to lead culture shifts at the organization level centered around diversity and equity.
