Not everyone likes and values project management. Not every organization is accepting of project management practices. Project management can be viewed as cumbersome, bureaucratic and excess overhead.

That's not to say that project management can't still deliver value, but the approach to doing so has to change—sometimes a lot. You need to understand the absolute essentials, how to apply them effectively, and still sometimes manage expectations with team members and clients about how you are managing.
