Overview

AI is quickly changing how project professionals draft reports, analyze risks, summarize meetings, and communicate with stakeholders. But the real leadership challenge is not simply learning a new tool. It is knowing which parts of the project work can be safely supported by AI, and which decisions must remain firmly in human hands.

This practical, vendor-neutral webinar shows project leaders and PMO teams how to use AI to work smarter while protecting judgment, accountability, and trust. Using a worked example of a weekly status report for a skyscraper lobby upgrade project, participants will see the same project task move through three levels of AI support: a chatbot that drafts, an assistant that analyzes, and a supervised agent that follows a workflow but stops for human approval.

The session will engage participants through a live poll, a worked project example, and a short exercise where each participant identifies one recurring task they can improve with AI within the next week. Along the way, participants will learn practical workflows for reporting, risk management, and stakeholder communication, as well as guardrails for data privacy, human approval, and output review. Responsible use is connected to the NIST AI Risk Management Framework to give participants a structured and defensible approach.

Participants will leave with concrete AI use cases, clear safety rules, and a practical way to apply AI on their own projects without giving up human judgment or accountability.

Learning Objectives

  • Map common project tasks, including reporting, risk management, and stakeholder communication, to the appropriate level of AI support: chatbot, assistant, or supervised agent.
  • Apply human-approval guardrails that protect data privacy, accountability, and decision quality when using AI on project work.
  • Design a simple, safe AI workflow for one recurring project task they can improve within the next week.
