When various companies come together to work on a project, they each bring their own corporate culture to the project organization. Consequently, a great variety of cultural aspects, as well as distinct practices and different values and interests for participation, emerge when stakeholders come together in a project organization. Hence, the project organization is a cultural complex work environment.

In this webinar Karen will present the importance of explicit attention to culture and collaboration in project management. Supported by real-life experiences from her Ph.D. research in the Panama Canal Expansion Program, Karen focuses on the cultural dynamics in the management of projects. Understanding how cultures affect your project is of key importance in reaching your project goals. You will learn to recognize cultural challenges in project execution, develop essential solutions to bridge the cultural gap and gain deeper insight into the Collabyrinth. This model, designed in the Netherlands and implemented in project organizations in Europe and Latin America, illustrates and provides tools for dealing with cultural complexity in the project environment.
