Forbes recently released Fostering Innovation Through a Diverse Workforce. The paper is based on an exclusive survey of 321 executives at large global enterprises ($500 million-plus in annual revenues). All respondents had direct responsibility or oversight for their companies’ diversity and inclusion programs.g
One of the key findings is that, for global companies, diversity is no longer simply a matter of creating a heterogeneous workforce, but using that workforce to innovate and give it a competitive advantage in the marketplace. And as companies compete on a global scale, diversity and inclusion frequently have to shift, as different markets and different cultures have varied definitions of what diversity means.
What do you think?

Thanks for sharing the report Pual. It is heartening to note from the report that "Today, diversity and inclusion efforts are a given. Companies aren’t paying lip service to the notion of a diverse workforce." For organizations, diversity is not longer a luxury but a pre-requite for greater innovation.

Thanks for posting this Paul. This is a critical issue. Organizations of every size and type are beginning to realize that this isn't something cute or trendy, but fundamental to organizational effectiveness. A powerful example of this is right here in the San Francisco Bay Area - Twitter is having ongoing issues with stalled market penetration, and is struggling to figure out why. As highlighted in this article:

its clear that the lack of diversity in their leadership ranks is likely a big part of the problem. Companies who understand and proactively embrace this issue will outperform the ones who don't.
