Paul,I totally agree with this besides that I feel that most recruiters do not put too much effort or give lots of consideration to online applications if these applicants where not referred to by someone (I am generally speaking). I've been seeking a job opportunity since approximately 2 months. I've applied and registered in plenty of Job Sites, Companies Websites, Recruiters but in vain although I am confident of my qualifications.

Besides that they rarely get back to you, it happens a lot that you apply for a job on the company website directly and the same job through a recruiter and you will be surprised that one finds your qualifications suiting the job posted, the other don't.

All the 3 points mentioned in the article are great but what's the purpose of having them there if they are not taken seriously and not monitered well besides that the job posting itself should be clear in addition to the requirements.

I would add one tip: There is nothing wrong with conducting preliminary interviews via Facetime or Skype. This will give the recruiter a good idea about the job seeker, reduce processing times and make shortlisting efficient, then final interviews could be done in Person.

good discussion! @Rami....good points re "they rarely get back to you" It can be frustrating especially when recruiters reach out to you...you respond with questions and you don't get answers. Good luck with your search!....al
